Mean pressure of a finite width oil control ring with randomly spaced grooves

نویسندگان

چکیده

The current paper studies the pressure generated between two parallel grooved surfaces, as occurs in oil control ring internal combustion engines. It is shown that depends significantly on position of groove intersections, and thus a single calculation cannot describe during full passage over pattern. Furthermore, it introduction distance variation reduces variation, but does not affect mean generated.

Transmittance of MIM Waveguides Containing Semi-Circular Ring Shaped and Rectangular Ring Shaped Grooves

In this paper the transmittance of metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides containing semi-circular ring shaped and rectangular ring shaped grooves are investigated. By varying groove parameters their effects on the transmittance of the MIM waveguides are investigated. The results show that the transmittance spectra of the waveguides have maximum and minimum points, and by using appropriate para...

Convex Bodies with Minimal Mean Width

is isotropic with respect to an appropriate measure depending on f . The purpose of this note is to provide applications of this point of view in the case of the mean width functional T 7→ w(TK) under various constraints. Recall that the width of K in the direction of u ∈ Sn−1 is defined by w(K,u) = hK(u) + hK(−u), where hK(y) = maxx∈K〈x, y〉 is the support function of K. The width function w(K,...

The Mean Width of a Convex Polytope

In the case n=d = 2, because of Cauchy's surface-area formula [2; p. 208], relation (3) reduces to the trivial statement that the perimeter of a convex polygon is equal to the sum of the lengths of its edges. If K is any closed bounded convex set of dimension at most d, we may write KaEczE and use md(K) and mn(K) to denote the mean widths of K relative to the spaces E and E respectively. A simp...

Estimators of Diffusions with Randomly Spaced Discrete Observations: a General Theory By

We provide a general method to analyze the asymptotic properties of a variety of estimators of continuous time diffusion processes when the data are not only discretely sampled in time but the time separating successive observations may possibly be random. We introduce a new operator, the generalized infinitesimal generator, to obtain Taylor expansions of the asymptotic moments of the estimator...
